See Clearly, Be Confident: Free Bi-Annual Eye Screening at South Parramatta Granville Preschool

Hey there, wonderful families of South Parramatta Granville Preschool!

We're excited to let you know that on Tuesday 18 April 2023, we'll be hosting the Statewide Eyesight Preschooler Screening (StEPS) Program right here at our Granville Childcare. The StEPS friendly team of nurses will be on hand to screen your child's eyesight - and best of all, it's absolutely free!

We highly recommend that all 4 year old children participate in the vision screening program, as many vision problems can go undetected without a trained vision screener. But don't worry - the screening will be quick and painless, taking only around 10 minutes per child, and no drops will be used.

Our lovely treatment room at the back of the childcare will be set up especially for the screening, so your child will be comfortable and relaxed throughout the process. And of course, all StEPS Program staff employed by Western Sydney Local Health District are specially trained in vision screening for young children and have undergone appropriate background checks.

After the screening, they'll provide you with a confidential report of your child's results. If any vision problems are detected, they'll send a letter asking you to have your child's vision fully tested by an eye health professional.

It's so important to ensure your child's vision develops normally throughout their formative years, so we encourage you to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity. If your child doesn't usually attend Granville Preschool on Tuesdays, don't worry - you can book casual care so they don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to give us a call on (02) 9637 7948 or 0483845338, or shoot us an email at info@granvillepreschool.com.au.

We'll be sending out information and consent forms to all families in in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for those.
