Rescue on the Playground: Helping Our Local Wildlife in Need!

This morning, we found an injured flying fox in our playground under a tree. It was a surprising and concerning sight. Thankfully, we knew the right thing to do! We called Sydney Wildlife Rescue on 02 9413 4300. They are a dedicated organization that looks after injured and distressed wildlife.

A lovely wildlife rescuer arrived promptly to help. She carefully wrapped the flying fox in a towel, placed it in a special rescue box, and assured us it would receive the care it needed. She also shared informative pamphlets with us about how to respond if we come across injured wildlife in the future.

This was a valuable learning experience for us and a reminder of the importance of caring for our local wildlife. We’ve included a photo of the pamphlet she shared, so you know what to do in similar situations. Let’s work together to protect our amazing native animals!
