Tuesday September 5 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am Free
Australia’s Biggest Child Safety Lesson (ABCSL) is an annual initiative of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation now in its seventh year. In a livestreamed online format, ABCSL is an engaging, educational video that teaches age-appropriate personal safety strategies in an empowering manner. ABCSL provides schools, early learning services, and families with the tools to engage in effective conversations about child safety. The Daniel Morcombe Foundation’s theme for 2023 is consent.
Communicating about consent in a respectful way can help children assert their right to stay comfortable and enforce their right to stay safe. ABCSL will focus on the concepts of ‘my body, my choice’, and strategies children can then use when they need to seek, give or deny consent (permission). The early years and junior primary (ages 4-7) lesson will be livestreamed at 9am AEST and the upper primary (ages 8-12) will be livestreamed at 10am AEST.
